Delete from the app

To delete your Chefra account, open Chefra and go to Settings. Tap the row labelled Delete account — it opens the Privacy & security page, where the delete control is. Confirm when prompted. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your account and the data linked to it, including your recipes, cookbooks, posts, comments, meal plans, grocery lists, uploaded photos, and profile information. There is no waiting period and no way to undo it, so export your data first if you want to keep a copy.

Retention of billing records

Deleting your account does not erase everything everywhere, and we would rather be specific than reassuring. Billing records are kept for up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance, and consent records for at least three years. Uploaded images may persist in our storage system after the records pointing at them are gone; they are no longer linked to you or reachable from anywhere in Chefra. Copies can remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days. Our payment and email providers keep their own records under their own schedules. And if an upload of yours was refused by automated moderation, the retained copy of that image and the log of the refusal survive account deletion — they are kept indefinitely until a person reviews and deletes them. Can't access the app?

If you cannot sign in, email privacy@getchefra.com from the address on the account, with the subject line "Delete My Account". We verify that the account is yours before deleting it, and we complete the request within 30 days — usually much sooner. Deleting from inside the app is immediate, so use that route if you can get in.
